St. Martin Catholic Church, Lugbe, F.C.T., is a vibrant parish with over 4,500 parishioners, situated along the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport Road. Established on March 22, 2006, by His Eminence John Cardinal Onaiyekan, the parish was carved out from Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Airport, to cater to the growing Catholic community in the Lugbe area.
Named in honor of Rev. Fr. Martin Mbeledeogu (of blessed memory), St. Martin’s Parish has flourished under dedicated pastoral leadership. The first Parish Priest, Very Rev. Fr. Thomas Ali Edogbanya, alongside his team, transformed the parish from a humble outstation into a thriving community of faith, marked by rapid growth and development. His famous slogan, “Development by Aggression,” reflects the parish’s commitment to progress and resilience.
